Ok Give your ideas and opinions of what you want to see or have seen

The Counselor- Not as good as it advertised

12 Years a Slave- The best movie so far this year

Star Trek Into the Darkness- Damn Good reboot

Pacific Rim -BUST

THE HANGOVER PART III- BUST

THE GRANDMASTER-Excellent
With me being an academy award junkie from now until the first of the year is my favorite time of year for movies. So here is my list of movies I want to see:

The Counselor - sad to see the reviews as this looks very good but I will still probably see anyway this week

12 years a slave - This years frontrunner

The Butler -- Looks OK but not sure about this one

Gravity - have heard lots of good things about this one even from non movie junkies like myself I will probably go see this week sometime

American Hustle - Out of all the trailers I have seen this one looks to be the most promising and I honestly can't wait for it

Her - Joaquin phoenix looks good in this

Saving Mr. Banks -- Love Tom Hanks

CaptainPhillips -- see above about tom hanks

Nebraska -- getting early buzz but after seeing the trailer I have my doubts looks to much like the movie Sideways which I didn't care for

Dallas Buyers Club -- Matthew McConaughey possible oscar nominee never thought I would say that LOL!

August Osage County -- Tony Award winning play gets the hollywood approach

Blue Jasmine -- Woody Allen's submission and Cate Blanchett getting rave reviews

Don Jon -- not that it will get many award nominations it looks funny and I have an obsession for Scarlett Johansson

and finally

Short Term 12 --This years indie film that is getting rave reviews and the trailer looks really good

Well that is my list for this year and I am sure something else will come up the closer we get to the end of the year

Pacific Rim. Great action. Fun to watch. Mako Mori is so cool.

Gravity. If Sandra Bullock does not walk away with the Best Actress Oscar I will be extremely pissed. Also expect the movie to get a Best Picture nomination. Awesome movie. Highly recommended.

This looked like it had so much potential but unfortunately it was missing something while I enjoyed some I felt like I was missing so much back story at time I was confused (that usually only happens during David Lynch movies!! ). But I will say I did enjoy Cameron Diaz's performance, (probably her best serious performance ever) and as always Javier Bardem was bad ass!

Gravity:
I was a little skeptical about this one but the reviews were stellar and it has done well at the box office and it has early Oscar buzz so I went. Technically this movie was amazing the dead silence the first couple of minutes was awesome (reminds me of 2001: A Space Odyssey) The story is good, I wouldn't say great but definitely good as it kept my attention. As for the performances there were only 2 so first George Clooney his part is actually very small in fact it is almost forgettable but the scenes he does have kind of lifts Sandra Bullocks performance up and makes it better than it already is (which is one of the things I think George Clooney does best which is what in my opinion I think he does best). As for Sandra Bullock while this in my opinion is not her best (I think The Blind side is her best performance ever) this is probably my second favorite performance of hers ever she did a great job. Now with me being a Oscar fanatic I think she is locked in for a nomination. It is to early to start predicting whether she will win since it is way to early in the awards season to start making those predictions but a nomination I can almost guarantee.

Still have some movies to see for this awards season I wish San Antonio would become one of the cities that would be one of the "limited release" cities that movies during this time of year release in I hate waiting till January or February to see some of the smaller films
