Is the Stl CoMo board dying from lack of provider participation? Seems a lot of providers have left the board. Can any of you who are left explain why?

I like this board because it helps with security, menu items and verification, yet requires no personal information. I don't care how many people say P411 is safe, if you have to give CC or other personal info, it is not safe.

There are very few post to the discussion forums and few provider ads. Is this site falling out of favor? if you think so, can you tell me why you think so?

thanks
Proportionally to the city sizes / Columbia has more posts than St Louis but more providers go St Louis. TER might be bigger in St Louis and they might have their own local boards. Eccie is so dominate in Oklahoma with Tulsa and OKC as well as huge in Texas. KC is the active Missouri location and Springfield is so-so ok with a few more local and traveling providers. I do have p411 and travel. Bottom line - St Louis is not active enough in eccie and too few providers make the trip to Columbia without the density of clients. I thought SEC football would bring them into Columbia!

Good questions. This board has never been very busy. Seems like there were always more posts from the Springfield guys until they got their own section. Not really sure why this board has never been busy. There used to be some local boards, but I'm not even sure if they are still used much.

Probably a lot of people are "burnt out" on board participation anymore. This board was never that active. All the local boards had so much drama that's its not funny. The last local board was doing pretty good until it hit a bunch of drama and now hardly any providers actually participate in discussions and very few guys post reviews.

It also doesn't help this board that the moderators don't pay much attention to it at all or do much to help encourage participation.

One local board RTP is nothing but a drama fest and you have to be a favorite on there to even warrent anyone talking to you. The other St Louis board is private and you have to have someone vote for you to be on there but I heard it's pretty dead as is RTP.
Haha Monica. I like your honesty. ;-) Though I want so badly to put my 2 cent in. I must refrain.

Well, if it's one thing I am it is honest. I think maybe too much so because people really don't want to hear the truth.

I've lived and hobbied here, Atlanta and DC. In some cases boards have appeared active, but if you start to follow them, it's the same people and providers posting. They just do a lot of it. Some guys do the niche thing.... For example running checks on every EROS ad. ( see TER denizens Lamont Cranston in Chicago or Inspector Gadget in DC). I swear, some guys don't have a life ( Beefeater aka jeopcon, in DC, who was practically outed by a provider when some SPs considered him something of a bully)

Bottom line: all boards eventually see drama. Others eventually whither and die -- anyone still frequent Big Doggie? When I started in 2000, that was the only show in town.

St. Louis' perceived and possibly real lack of activity runs deeper. I think because it's harder to be anonymous here. No one is from DC or Atlanta, but no one ever moves here. In the same way, there's not a lot of talent turnover here among locals, so a board becomes a bit redundant.
'Board participation' is over-rated compared to actual board function.
Providers get lazy and slow down the posting of creative ads that will titillate and plant the seed of flirtation on even a daily basis.
Hobbyists are also lazy and need to be enticed a lot more often than once a week or once a month.

When I see a provider not posting ads I immediately think she is going through something personal and not available right now. Then again I am used to an old STL board that had a wonderfully successful provider on it (who is now not in the hobby) that would post something 'short and sweet' every single day she was available.

These stupid ass threads that are just dumbass questions like "do you like butt plugs" or "fingering" or "what gets you to repeat with a provider". Nothing is a bigger waste of space and time on a board for me, but that's only my opinion.

So, when people say a board is 'dead', who is really dead? The site? The lazy participants? The immature posting? Or is it the lack of recognizing that BUSINESS is suppose to be transacted and not just used for cheap entertainment.

Haha couldn't agree more MR.knowitall. ;-)
I am not a member of any fee boards. By "dead" I mean few provider ads and reviews
