Tipping

Love to hear from men and women. Seen other posts about many different opinions – if you should tip, when, how, etc. Specifically interested in hearing:

1. Should you tip? I believe you should tip for excellent service. Some have said they charge the rate they want so you don’t need to tip – I don’t agree with that but maybe I’m off on this.

2. How much should you tip? I tip 20% when eating out for good service, 25-30% for truly excellent service. What are others doing?

3. When should you tip? Beginning or end of the session – lay it out near your donation, on her nightstand, or give it during the next session? I’ve seen all 3 listed but hard to tell how much beforehand, feel like a goof digging for it after, and afraid she’ll feel slighted and not appreciated if I wait until the next time.

Bonus question – what’s an appropriate amount to give a provider you see regularly for her birthday or a holiday such as Christmas? My ATF has a birthday in January and Christmas is coming soon so I want to make sure I’m showing sincere appreciation and have no idea of what would be considered appropriate.

I learned a lot from the post by Jules about flowers and think this could be a similar thread to ensure we know the way it is and the way it should be.

Tip if you want to, don't if not. 20% is a good tip in a restaurant 25 - 30 is crazy. Why would you tip in the beginning? You haven't even decided if you received good service or not. Does your ATF give you anything at Xmas? An appropriate amount is anything you want to give. lol

Guys get it in their head that tipping an "escort that makes 250 an hour" is an absurd idea. They assume most ladies are pulling in 5k and up a month and don't see any justification for it.

Reality is - a LOT of the providers are mothers, just trying to make ends meet, or single ladies just trying to get on their feet. Most ladies here don't see one guy a day, let alone 5 or more to fill up whatever delusions fellas have in their head that women here do.

This season is tough on some providers because they haven't prepared in advance for the holidays, with hobbyists having their own family obligations to focus on. Or are struggling themselves with the increased pressures even if they did prepare.

Not that tipping should be a sympathy move by any means, my point in saying the above is that many women here aren't in the position to give gifts to those that are special to them. They don't have the luxury of it even if they wanted to.

I tip well in most service situations I get into. Dinner, spa, salon, etc. Good service gets good tip. Why should this service be any different? If any of my providers exceed my expectations, they get my show of appreciation.

I personally don't think you should tip beforehand. Since there isn't much to be appreciative about. No matter what, it is a personal choice. Do what makes you feel happy.

We ladies pay attention to those that treat us well. We like to be reminded that we have done a good job and feel appreciated. 20-200- a memento from a conversation you remembered we had a while back- a silly 4$ greeting card out of the blue for no reason ...... We notice.
Do you tip your lawyer also?

Waiters make their money from tips and really no other way.

BTW TIP-To Insure Promptness.

With 1.3" of dangling death only the tip goes in anyway.

As far as other tipped industries, like restaurant wait staff for example, you tip for good, timely and friendly service because that is how they make the majority of their money, if no one tipped them, they would make $20 and day working an 8 hour shift! Tip if you want, and that should be an option, not a requirement, to get great service in this hobby, and that extra tip should be after the session, because if you tip before, then the provider already knows she is getting the tip, therefore no need/incentive to earn it. Other gifts that are not direct cash given to the provider are good and can possibly get you special favors/appreciation shown, or more than likely not. My philosophy on tipping in the hobby is this: The biggest and best tip you can give is seeing that provider for a repeat visit. Keep in mind that $200-250 for an hour is a lot of money especially for the time put in, and thinking small, just seeing 2 clients a day on average for a 5 day work week is $2000-2500 a week tax free, which is a very good living and if a provider is struggling to make ends meet, then it is her own fault, not because the client(s) does/do not tip! As far as the provider remembering you because you tipped her an extra $20-50 over and above and either not repeating or seeing her once every 6-7 weeks out, maybe she will, maybe she won't. See her at least monthly for a session, and she will definitely remember you plus the fact that if you do the simple math, $250 a session for 12 sessions a year from you = $3000 while $300 a session for 9 sessions a year = $2700. Some providers would not mind making the latter as they do not have see our ugly mugs as often, but she can make more money with continuous and frequent repeat clients than seldom repeat clients that tip over and above the donation rate.

it should be based on service or personal choice

do you try to get money back if the service is horrible?

did she go above and beyond your expectations?

most of the time if i get tipped i try to make the tip worth it, but that depends on the guy
For me Tips don't mean extra money. I actually like it when I don't get tipped extra cash. I have regular who always brings me a goodie bag of different things. The little gifts too me or what make it extra special because he goes too different places too get what he knows that I will like.

I don't have an opinion on tipping, but these "calculations" about how much providers make are nonsense.

I share an incall with two other providers and there are DAYS when none of the three of us are there at all, and certainly NEVER a day when all three of us are seeing two clients each LOL!

There are times I get a last-minute request, call my roomies, and both tell me they have nothing booked so the place is mine whatever time I want.

I used to share an incall with two rather famous (i.e. NOT UTR), now-retired, providers. We divided the use by dedicated days.
I had two days of the week to use the incall; Faith had two; and Holly had one.

I guarantee you Holly wasn't meeting that assumed quota of 10/week in her one day

Nor were Faith and I meeting that number spread over our two days each.

Also these peculiar calculations never subtract out one week off per month due to Mother Nature, nor any overhead such as incall costs and advertising.

"tax free" is also not true. If a lady is going to deposit cash into her bank account and/or pay a mortgage or car payments, she'd better be filing taxes.

You say that you are sitting around twiddling your thumbs, then why is it that I see a countless number of threads and posts that guys cannot reach many providers or they take multiple days, (if they even do) to respond to their requests for appointments? There is a reason guys have to have and why you see plan B or C in reviews, because plan A is non responsive. As far as Aunt Flo visiting goes, you can provide non-FS activities such as FBSM-L2 or BnG for instance, if you are hurting for income that bad. Most providers are going to try to burn that candle on both ends to serve the purpose for the moment (clock watching one day because your appointment times are booked that day and you do not want guys to run into each other then the next day, you can here crickets chirping in the incall and the provider is checking to see if her phone is actually on) so I do not expect an honest and sincere answer. IMO, you cannot have it both ways, either you are busy or you are not. I can guess that filing taxes is not done by many of the providers, but even if they do, besides yourself cuz you follow the law to the penny in your truthfulness to the government, 95% of them are not going to report all their income, so essentially, there is tax free income.
Most people in tipped industries do not report their total tips. The standard is 8% of your shift sales. The IRS encourages tipped employees to report all of their tips for income-appropriate opportunities on loans but most people employed in gratuity dependent jobs only claim the 8%.

I claim whatever my bank statement says at the end of the year and I make sure the money in and out never goes over 40K/yr.

Tips are very nice to get but not expected. But I can tell you if I have a request for the same time by two different gents, just by nature I would give the tipper preference. That's just basic money-sense (and proves why tipping matters). I am very generous tipper though so maybe I am biased, but I also never have to wait for a drink at the places I visit or wait for my car at valet because they know I appreciate them. Having worked as a server and a bartender for years when I was in my late teens and early 20s I am very understanding and supportive of tipped employees. Even a shitty waitress will still get 20% if I'm paying the bill.
