Question about sent PM's

Curious if anyone knows the answer to this: If I send someone a PM but in the course of cleaning out my PM's delete the sent PM prior to it being read does that mean the recipient never sees/gets it?

I don't think so, I've sent then deleted right away, message was received I just didn't get confirmation.

The recipient will still get it, no different than sending an email.
