5 Myths About Prostitutes I Believed (Until I Was One)
http://www.cracked.com/article_20734...i-was-one.html

The title is kind of misleading. It should really be "5 Things No One Tells You About Being a Prostitute". It is written by a woman who worked at the bunny Ranch in NV, so not really applicable to our little site, but still interesting.

#5. You Get Thrown Right Into It
#4. You Have to Learn How to Dick Check
#3. The Most Important Skills Are Negotiation and Self-Esteem
#2. It's a Mundane Work Environment
#1. It's Legal, but It's Still Unfair

I read the same article and, while well written and entertaining, didn't think it really applied to the independent girls out there. But as a guy I'd like to hear a provider's perspective on it.
I worked in a ranch many years ago. Independent and ranches are extremely different. The approach is as different as the atmosphere. Of course each ranch in it's own right is different as well. I would hazard to say the adult industry gave me a bolster of self confidence quite early on.

When I worked at the BR, I found the company and establishment to border on low brow. Contrary to what the show advertises the prices varied drastically and so did the caliber of lady and traffic.

The one thing I would comment and agree on is that, though stated differently, you are not truly given a choice. The ranch has every legal right to tell you whom you will see, for how much, how long and if you chose to decline your place there was at stake.

There are ups and downs of both. Generally I feel the ranches are best served for those who are new on either side. This allows for a safe, legal environment to learn and discover the type of provider you are and the sort of provider you prefer.
