Models, Photographers and Copyrights… San Antonio, I want YOUR OPINION…;)

To all of the wonderful men and women of ECCIE I would like to say HAPPY HOLIDAYS!! I would also like to get YOUR opinion on a interesting situation that I stumbled across in the Kansas City Co-Ed Section…

Many of you know that SL recently posted his 2014 Calendar on some of his favorite ladies on ECCIE… Now, while I was INCREDIBLY HONORED to be asked to participate in this calendar… I was also a tad bit PANICKED!!

There is NOTHING more NERVE WRACKING then to be asked to submit a photo of your body when you are nearly 20 years older than the majority of the participants AND it had to be a photo that NO ONE had ever seen before…

Now, I have had the pleasure of working with FOUR wonderful photographers over the last 2 years… Craig Accord, Russell Kenna, Megan Love and Luscious Leo… all four of these photographers were not only VERY PROFESSIONAL but they were willing to work with me on my needs as an escort…

One of the MAIN reasons to have REGULAR PHOTOS taken is to let people know that you are working out and that you are taking care of yourself… too often in our business… Old photos are used and when a hobbyist arrives at their destination they are disappointed to find that their PLAYMATE has either aged or gained a bit of weight… This is NOT the best way to start a DATE!!

HOWEVER, I digress… I was perusing the Kansas City Co-Ed forum and I was SHOCKED to realize that a studio that I had admired GREATLY in the PAST had DEMANDED that TWO OF THE PHOTOS from the CALENDAR be removed because of copyright issues…

Now, I am not here to DEBATE his copyrights to the photos… I am not an attorney… but I am CURIOUS San Antonio… What is YOUR OPINION ON THIS MATTER?

In my mind… since, we were NOT PAID for THESE submitted photos… they are merely an extension of an AD that we might run on a weekly basis… and in my own opinion this gave BCD, his models and the rest of the participants ADDITIONAL FREE EXPOSURE and I would hope an increase in business for both the models and the photographers…

However, I AM NOT a professional photographer so I am OPEN to being EDUCATED on WHY this might have upset BCD Studio's sooo much… I truly am…

Photography is a creative endeavor between two parties… both the photographer and the model… and in my opinion there is no greater feeling then working with a photographer that you CLICK WITH and ya'll are on the SAME PAGE…

Again, I have been VERY LUCKY to have FOUR very unique and different photographers and I look forward to discovering MORE in 2014… I appreciate their TALENT, HARD WORK & DEDICATION that is needed to master this incredibly difficult art…

I will end this with one photograph from each of these four photographers and I would say that if any of you ladies have a chance to work with any of them… you will be DELIGHTED with their professional manner and talented photos!!

You're kidding me right!!!! You have nothing to worry about in the looks department especially since you look better than most women no what there age!!!

I would also agree that is seems odd that they demanded those photos would be taken down especially since they were not being paid for them nor was SL or anybody else unless he is looking to make a profit off his "Calendar", (which I don't think is his intention) but if he was then I could see maybe there could maybe be a copyright infringement. In my opinion if the ladies use them in their ads then it is on the internet and therefore open domain kind of the same way these other websites take pics from facebook twitter or a number of other sources out there. Now I am not a lawyer so I am not sure of what the actual legal rights when it comes to images on the internet and how copyright laws are affected by pictures that are placed on websites but I have to imagine it has to involve some kind of monetary transaction by one of the three parties involved, whether it is the model, the photographer or the person using the photos. I guess I will have to do some more research.

Great pics Slave G. What was questions again? Your pics keep distracting me. SG, many ladies have nothing on you. Your pics are awesome and any guy would love to be with you and any lady would kill to be you. Unless you signed release forms I would imagine photos would be that of subject unless rights were signed over to photographer.

I think you should not mix "professional photography" with your line of work, what I mean is when they start making all this legal stuff like copy rights , signing documents, etc.. Just too personal in my opinion.

I'm not one to talk as my pics are selfies (camera sitting on box with timer) and the lighting and angles are not the best, but I think you can have nice pictures without them being "professional" , especially since you're already beautiful just my .2
And don't remove the photos

Also, I don't trust photographers to do my escort pix. I have hired photographers but for other purposes

I don't know what our site rules are, but I know some websites put the disclaimer that they own all properties from pictures posted to their site (i'm assuming those that aren't of a copy write nature to begin with.)
Also, if any of the submitted pictures aren't clearly owned by you, I can see them saying that.

When a picture is taken it belongs to the one who operated the camera (the photographer) that took it. That is why there are watermarks in the pictures. They clearly identify the owners of those pictures. Still Looking removed those watermarks from some of the pictures and then posted them. That was a mistake. Those pictures are not his to modify or post. Unless BCD Studios sold or otherwise released to him the rights to those pictures, they have every right to be upset and tell him to remove them.

OK, now I understand what happened. I agree if the image has a watermark, you certainly can't remove it without compensation. That is part of the photography game as a method to get paid for your efforts. Differentl studios have different rules, best to know them up front. It is always easier and less costly to negotiate the release before the nude photos exist.

As to the other issues you brought up, the other girls need to be worried about being on the same calendar as a woman such as yourself. You set a very high bar of beauty and poise.

SG you don't have anything to worry about.. there is much to do about nothing. For this to get serious they would have to determine that you are making a lot of money from the calendar. Does it sound reasonable they would take action with a lawyer at 250 an hour to win nothing...even a lawyer will tell them its not worth it... don't sweat it... just continue being your hot self.

Sorry Mokoa you are wrong. I requested that all providers submit photographs that had NO PHOTOGRAPHERS names on them. The providers name was just fine. Two of the ladies submitted pictures with water marks on them which I removed. I was contacted by BCD and was asked to up load the original version of the pictures. This is their right as it was "mine" to remove the pictures. I requested BCD contact the providers to explain why they were removed. The spirit of the Calenda was to show what beautiful ladies we have here on ECCIE. Not high light a photography studio that slaps large banners accross the pictures. As I stated in another threAD, I will make it a point to start a National threAD to draw attention to these caliber of photographers. (After The Hoilidays!) BCD is exactly why I requested providers submit pictures without these large water marks. While I can not publish my private correspondance with each provider here, Slave will back me up that I in fact requested NO PHOTOGRAPHERS NAMES on the pictures.

Mokoa I have taken a picture or two LOL. If I took the picture how come if a provider requrests "her" picture be taken down, you do so? After all the picture doesn't belong to them according to you it belongs to me? Right??? Very interesting..... IJS.

Thank you for your compliments and your praise… and I very much appreciate your input… All four of the photographers that I worked with were excellent at working with me in regards to the contract..

I recognize that the photographer has a certain RIGHT to the photographs… However, the AMOUNT of CONTROL can be NEGOTIATED and I think that a lot of NEW MODELS/ESCORTS may not REALIZE that there are photographers are willing to work with you in this regards…

I wanted to have control over which photos were PUBLISHED on any of their websites, business cards, promotional material etc… Mainly because… this is MY IMAGE and I want to make sure that I am COMPLETELY HAPPY with a shot before it is PUBLISHED… and sometimes, it is natural that two artists may disagree…

Each photographer also had their own needs that needed to be met… and that is something that should be discussed prior to the shoot… However, in this case it looks like the photos in question had watermarks removed and I can see why BCD would be upset about that… However, I can also see SL'S side of things…

Regardless, I am VERY GLAD that I brought up the topic and that this has been explained and discussed… I think if nothing else, it can help to educate some of our newer escorts and it also gives ME a different point of view… and in order to grow… we always need to hear and be able to receive all sides of the story with an open mind…

I truly LOVE designing the shoots and getting ready for them… the PHYSICAL challenge of posing for hours on end takes a lot of strength and patience… What professional models do and go through on a day to day basis is IMPRESSIVE…and I would have NEVER known that if I hadn't decided to explore this side of our world…

Still Looking, *you* are incorrect.

Mokoa stated you removed the water mark and you admitted to it.

Regardless if the instructions you asked the submitter were not followed, *you* removed it.

Creative artist don't like that.

So be careful removing that tag from your pillow or mattress that says not to remove it
