I have not been to the PF here in Gretna, but worked out at one in Oklahoma City while there for the holidays. I don't know their pricing, because I was paying a guest fee, but I was impressed with the facility. Plenty of cardio equipment, machines and free weights.

To me, the most important factor in picking a gym/health club is convenience. I can make just about any gym work for me, but it has to be close to my home.

Machines are ok .... But without some guidance or coaching ... Many times it becomes a social club or they become boring ....
If you really want to workout I suggest crossfit .... You can scale it to your ability and its almost like having a personal trainer guide you ...
January is health month and many boxes offer specials
.... Just my .02 cents
I love planet, the hours are great. The machines are self explanatory and massage chairs are great
It depends on your level of training....for me, PF is worthless except for cardio equipment.....but again, I am probably more on one extreme side of things than most.

Cheers
Heard the price is good but equipment may be somewhat limited.

Snap Fitness is pretty good. 24 hour keycard access. Each one is different so it depends on where you go but you can use multiple locations.
Planet Fitness is $10 a month, $20 for use of massage beds and tanning. Good machine weight line (Life Fitness line). Cardio equipment usually is a combination of Life Fitness and Cybex equipment. Also usually has a limited free weight section. If you are familiar with working out it is a good deal. If you need a trainer you'll have to go somewhere else because they don't allow trainers.

Crossfit is a core strength and conditioning program....
It's based on functional movement ....

For the hard core it's intense and extreme...
But it can be scaled to your individual abilities until you can and want to take on more .....
There are certified , trained coaches with each çlass to instruct and Tudor every participant.....

There are very few if any machines other than a rower....
But there are weights , med balls, pull up bars , running, jump ropes , squats , burpees, box jumps & endless other forms of punishment to strengthen your core ....

Some boxes ( gyms ) have a free first visit .... To see if its for you ..
Good luck !!!!
