1. Catfishing
The phenomenon of internet predators that fabricate online identities and entire social circles to trick people into emotional/romantic relationships (over a long period of time).

Possible motivations: revenge, loneliness, curiosity, boredom

The term catfishing was inspired by the 2010 documentary "Catfish."
Gwen was worried that her online boyfriend was a phoney after she saw a TV program about Catfishing.
Oh wow well that sucks that that happened, hopefully you can find what you are looking for. How can you tell if it is cat fishing though?

I don't look my age but all my pics are accurate. What i don't understand is why would a girl do that isn't that bad for business? I mean come on you can post fake pics but you're gonna get caught when they meet you. Don't make sense to me.

In my case I responded to an ad on BP from a lady soliciting clients, presenting here self as an "intellectual" and someone who wants a few carefully chosen men.

I responded, the person sent me several pics and used a name that on searching revealed a real person who matched the pics sent me. The person agreed that I was the kind of individual they were interested in and let's meet. From that point three or four attempts at meeting all were met with silence and email stopped.

I think someone was "catfishing" or playing a cruel joke on an unsuspecting woman.

Funny thing, this person responded to a post I sent wishing whoever they were a HNY and they responded but admitted that they thought I was someone else. I responded back calling their hand on their game. We shall see.
