BELLMEAD (January 6, 2014) A Bellmead man and woman were held Monday in the McLennan County Jail both charged with robbery in connection with a sex-for-hire scam.
John Herrera, 20, was charged with aggravated robbery and held in lieu of a $250,000 bond, jail records showed.
Lacy Martinez, 19, was ordered held on bonds totaling $280,000 charged with aggravated robbery, assault on a public servant, evading arrest and resisting arrest and ordered held without bond on a burglary of a building with insufficient bond, according to jail records.
On December 20, 2013, Bellmead police were sent to an apartment complex in the 3600 block of Scroggins, in Bellmead, after a man had driven up to the Bellmead Police Department and reported he had been assaulted and robbed, Bellmead police Detective Michael Miller said.
The victim gave the officers the address on Scoggins and police went there to begin an investigation.
Detectives were able to determine the victim had gone to the address after meeting a woman online who promised him a sexual encounter in exchange for money.
The victim reported when he arrived and went into the apartment, the woman inside sent a text on her cell phone, which actually alerted her boyfriend, who was hidden in a closet inside the apartment, Miller said.
The boyfriend came out of the closet, attacked the victim and took his car keys, which the attacker used to open the victim's car and begin to search it for valuables.
The victim was able to get to his car and found the boyfriend inside and the two started to fight.
The victim was able to break away from his attacker and drove to the Bellmead police station to report the crime, Miller said.
The victim later was treated for his injuries at a local hospital, Miller said.
Investigators later were able to obtain arrest warrants for Herrera and Martinez and arrested them on Monday on the charges,
Miller said both told police they had pulled off similar attacks and robberies at least six times in the recent past.

So, apparently, none of the other 6 victims reported to the police what happened.
Martinez was charged with the assault on a public servant because she kicked the shit out of the arresting officer. After they got her handcuffed, she continued to headbutt the officer and ended up sending the police officer to the hospital with a concussion. The report was that she was advertising for massages on BackPage.
