New Moderator

It has been mentioned that our fine Moderators here in San Antonio are in need of some help. There have been some suggestions as to who that should be which were not met with resounding disapproval from the masses so I thought I would just put this out there.
There is a Mod from Dallas that hobbies very often down here and attends our M&G's.
He seems to be well liked and moderates fairly.
What would you think about Von Spieler being a forum moderator here to help out Mokoa and JJ?

I definitely think it should be someone UNBIASED.. so he gets my vote from being an outsider

In light of the recent accusations of indiscretion against the existing Mods, maybe someone who doesn't hobby here would be better?

Im not sure having a total stranger is such a good idea. Being familiar with the populous can be more beneficial than not. IJS

1 This is not a democracy. The owners make the rules, not members;
2 If you think someone, (or even yourself) would make a good mod, make constructive suggestions to the owners. I'm sure the the owners would appreciate such constructive insights.
3. The only thing to "vote on" here is Whisper's and Still Looking's incessant idiotic polls, and those dont count for shit for anything anywhere.

Well we only have two and they are pretty busy so sometimes days go by without a reply to pms or edits needed in the forum.

The third mod- is virtually non existent. He should be replaced.

Being aware of the population and being involved are two different things. I think someone should come in fresh. That way no one can say they are playing favorites, etc.

AND OBVIOUSLY this thread is for fun. I think we are all aware (maybe not Whisper or SL) that we don't own this website and therefore anything we say is all for fun.

Ok I think you may have taken this out of context. This is not a slap in the face to Mokoa or JJ.........in fact you may note that I said "our fine mods." I think they do a great job here and it is one that is not appreciated as much as it should be. None the less the San Antonio forum is growing rapidly and there are only 2 of them where as in the Austin, Dallas, and Houston forums there are several moderators to handle the work load.
I know for a fact St Chris has the final say so in who moderates and which forum they moderate in.
This is my way of openly offering my opinion as to who I think would be a good fit as a moderator in our forum.
As far as Whispers for moderator here, well he has pretty much dug his own grave on that one if you want to go by SL's recent poll.

No, I didnt take it out of context. It just pisses me off people going on and on about their 2 cents about how moderating could be "better"

As members, not owners, we have no say so re moderating. So what is the purpose of these "how it should be done and by who" threads" ? We dont like that, we can vote with our feet. Its a big internet full of ho boards.

These guys do this for free and they have lives. I have waited a day or so for a mod to get back to me on occasion on something not an emergency - review approval etc.

So what. This isnt Time Warner or CPS customer service.

I agree with you Flinde. Every post made by both Whispers, myself, you and any other member holds as much value as the time it took to type it. Hell I'm betting I could take this post to Star Bucks and get a large coffee with room for cream for about $2.09.

Seems like a rush to judgment here on your behalf Flinde. Did you check with Mokoa & JJ to see if perhaps their personal lives and work load might not welcome some help? Hell you might get someone who spank Whispers and I like red headed step children. Change is challenging for many of us.

Personally I think a female MOD her in San Antonio work be a great addition. She might be able to promote COED being more of what it should be instead of a "LOOK AT ME, LOOK AT ME" AD section.

I believe JJ and or Mokoa are perfectly capable of managing their volunteer workload and seeking help as needed and if necessary without any help or public comment from the peanut gallery.

Now, Still Looking, we should get back to what we do best, and that's not bitching about mods or defending the mod structure. Lets see who can outclown the other in the next 24 hours. Clowning throwdown time.
