USA...USA...USA...!

Just watch USA hockey beat Russia. I don't normally watch hockey, but that was pretty cool. I may have to start.
It's just pool play. Wait until the games actually mean something - then you'll have to watch.

RTM, if you watched the game I don't think you would say it didn't mean anything. The intensity was amazing and the atmosphere electric. There's something about competing for your country that elevates play. If the Russians can only win one gold medal, hockey would be it. Go USA!!

Goal called back, OT and 8 inning shootout isn't intense?

First period alone was pretty amazing, really.
Different perspectives, I guess. To me, the medal round games are what's important. Even if the US had lost, they still would have had a bye into the quarterfinals - again, the single elimination part of the tournament.
It was a great game and shoot outs add to the drama....Anytime USA and Russia meet it goes up a notch, but RTM has a valid point......medal play is a different level.

and to add more intrigue to the hockey tournament, the US won't play either Canada or Russia until the gold medal game, based on the seeding of the elimination round - and Russia has to play an extra game as well.

Man, these games are great! I love the winter games! It's ALL about the hockey (men and the ladies), but I must admit I dig the snowboarding stuff, some of the skiing, speed skating, and even the curling because it's like a chess match on ice!
I am praying hard for a US/Russia hockey gold medal game!

Here's a reason to watch the US ladies team-- the Lamoureux sisters...they're sisters playing for team USA! More than that, they're fuckin TWINS!!! http://espn.go.com/photo/2013/1104/e...ns_800x450.jpg
Today will be a great game. If we beat CZE, I wonder if we can get through Canada for the Gold medal game. Canada is loaded with talent, but it appears the hot women are on KC. Am I right?!
