Nitwitboy needs his Jazz

Are there any Jazz clubs in Dallas you really enjoy. I am looking for a place that is always Jazz or Blues, not like Sambuca and where I can find cigar smoke filling the room, primarily dark and large round booths in a corner. The best jazz clubs I know of in Los Angeles are in bad neighborhoods, so I am not opposed to that. I am looking more towards a Miles Davis atmosphere or Wes Montgomery vs. Kenny G or Spyro Gyra. I want one of those places where I show up, and much like the movie 48hrs, the entire place stops because a white guy came in.
You won't be the only white person, sorry, but this is by far my favorite place to go when I am on that side of town visiting friends and family:

*Edit...oops, you said Dallas. My bad! You should still go though

I like Brooklyn Jazz Cafe on Lamar in Dallas:

Thanks Dannie, both are not that far for the right experience. I appreciate it.
This Thursday at Scat Jazz Lounge there is a Miles Davis tribute. I went for my B-Day this year and saw the same show, it was GREAT. You'll love it!!!

You might give Buttons a try. They've been in business in Ft Worth and just last weekend opened their new club in Addison in the space formerly occupied by Sambuca on Addison Rd.

think jazz under the stars at the DMArt is just during the summer.
