Golf in KC

Happy Monday all!! I am an avid golfer and enjoy the variety of courses available here in KC. I play primarily at Prairie Highlands in Olathe, but also enjoy Winterstone, Shoal Creek, Falcon Lakes and Alvamar (public) in Lawrence. Among the private clubs that I've had the opportunity to play, I particularly liked The National, and feel that it's the best course which I've played in KC.

I would like to hear from other golfers regarding their opinions of their favorite local courses. I particularly enjoy courses which provide a challenge, yet are playable without being ridiculously difficult and have a nice variety of holes. I'm always on the lookout for new courses to play and would appreciate the thoughts of others on their favorites. Thanks, in advance, for your replies.

Stone Canyon and Creekmoor are good courses and fees are reasonable.

Thanks Boots. Have not played either of those. I'll check them out!!
Public:Tiffany greens(NKC), Sycamore Ridge(Paola) Shirkeys(Richmond) Dubs Dread (KCK)

Private: Shadow Glenn, Milburn....both hard to get on w/o membership
Hallbrook was insanely difficult when it first opened. Much more player friendly now. So far as traditional golf courses are concerned, Kansas City Country Club is an excellent track.

I did a lot of good drinking and babysitting the beer at Sunflower Hills when I was in high school and lettering in golf.
