There is a legal question forum as well. Lots and lots of great info there with advise from a number of lawyers on this site. A big thanks to them for their time explaining the law and answering questions. Everyone should check out the forum.

On to manifestation of prostitution, I'd imagine that one could also be arrested for "looking" like a hooker in public, and/or having an online advertisement for solicitation of prostitution (in reference to the bill that was signed in September).

Otherwise, the cops are not stupid, and are well and alive on any and every escort advertising site, as well as the streets and strip clubs.

Nevertheless, I am by no means a lawyer and I have not taken the state bar. If you have any questions, then I highly suggest visiting the legal /law forum on this site.

I just feel like its some bullshit that they can charge you with whatever they please even if they know it wont hold up in court just to be assholes and ruin your day and cost you money to bail out of jail and hire a lawyer to fight the charge are justice system is kind of a joke what if you were just asking for directions....

Used to be if they saw you cruising up and down Harry Hines, you might get ticketed for manifestation. Or if you emerged from a peep-show booth with a known prostitute. In all cases, what it boils down to is, "We know what you were planning to do or were doing, but we can't prove that, so here's a ticket for looking like you were doing what we know you were doing."

The cops can lie, cheat, steal, and commit a whole host of other felonies in order to make a bust. They don't care one bit about whether or not the charges stick or are sound. They're only concerned with their quotas and the increase in federal and state funding that comes with it.

Cops have way too much power. We let them get that way by not protesting other, smaller abuses of power. You can't wait to protest when they start confiscating weapons, you must start protesting when they write bad laws or use intimidation to keep you quiet

BSB, in reference to the bill you mention in post #3 (the one that went into effect last September), that allows for suits in civil court. It's not an additional criminal act.
It just simply means that you looked like you was about to possibly maybe prostitute yourself for cash. I know a girl that was arrested with that charge.

She was trolling at a hotel bar, and unknowingly went up to the room with a cop, under the premise she was giving him a massage. He gave her the money under the bar before she went up with him. She was Certified and not Licensed (or which ever comes first), and so when the cops burst in from the adjoining room, the cop was butt ass naked, standing at attention, and she was fully dressed. In essence, she hadn't done anything wrong. But because she had prior prostitution arrests, they booked her on manifestation charges. She actually thought getting her massage license would stop her from getting arrested. She should have known that if you answer the phone for the cops, you don't have to say or do anything. They're just going to arrest you.

I say control what you can, and that's not the police.
Happy Friday!
