Filet Mignon or Bologna?

Have you ever had a dream and woke up feeling like you just had a bologna sandwich? How about those rare dreams where you think you're having some good bologna, but wake up to realize that you just had filet mignon?

I'm sure we would all agree that once you have filet, bologna just doesn't cut it any more. Sure, you might go back to bologna because you can't always afford filet, or maybe you can't get filet because it's not available that day. And when you have that bologna, does your mind ever wander and make you wish it was filet instead? Or maybe you find that it's impossible to ever go back to bologna.

I'll admit that I have had a bologna sandwich a number of times. Sometimes the bologna seems old and tasteless, sometimes it doesn't quite taste right. Sometimes the bread is stale and dry. But one thing that almost always is consistent is that even when it's good, it is just OK, not much more.

But have you ever had bad filet mignon? It's always soft and tender, always tastes great, goes down smooth, and leaves you feeling happy and very satisfied.

Some of you are going to take this as one more strange posting from another crazy dude. Others will understand and agree with me. Once you have filet, it's tough to go back to bologna.

I prefer Rib Eye, it's by far the best red meat
I grew up on some fried bologna and still get a craving for it every once in awhile. I do love filet mignon, its the only steak I'll eat. So, bologna and filet mignon are both consistent to me, I appreciate having a variety in my life.
One cannot appreciate the Filet Mignon without indulging in the flavors of bologna. It is actually good once in awhile to return to the bologna so that the flavor of the filet bursts on your tongue when you indulge that next meal.

Of course there is something to be said about variety, Veal, filet mignon, ribeye. So many many variations set out in a buffet for your taking. Perhaps dedicating a meal a week to the filet and allowing the rest of your week to discover the various other flavors the world has to offer.

Obviously I very much understood what you were saying

I had a dream that I had eaten a huge marshmallow, when I woke up my pillow was gone.

Yes we all are some sort of meat....call me Spam...the tasty meat in a can!
I just usually head to Arby's for the Roast Beef.
I do not eat Bologna or Hot Dogs. In my opinion it just doesn't seem like a quality piece of meat. I know that others have no beef (no pun intended lol) with that stuff, but I can never wrap my mind around eating either of those things (horror stories heard about how that stuff is made... Scaryeee lol).

Now if we are talking about the "good stuff"... I prefer a Bone-In Rib Eye steak (medium rare of course lol). Mmmmmm Scrumptious!

However, I suspect you were not exactly speaking of food per se, but more so in an analogy...

The problem with the food industry is how to get an acceptable quality goods (good quality control with the quality control records to prove it) in the quantity needed (shipping and delivery on time - every time) to the people in need. There is nothing wrong with either type of meat.

Some people just are not in the market for the high priced stuff. But keep in mind there are far more hot dog sold than high priced steaks.

The last three T-bone steaks I have had were at a Waffle House. Not the best, and most tender; but, at about $12 it is a good meal. I have also had a T-Bone steak recently at The Savoy Grill in KC for about $44.00; with tip that is about 4 times the price. It is all meat. What makes one 4 times the price of the other?

Something must make it worth more!
