It was actually a spoof trailer to go along with the grind house movies because thats how they did it back in the day, but it was so popular and in such demand that they decided to make it.

Hobo with a Shotgun (the exclusive trailer for Canada when Grindhouse came out...which I saw 4 times in theaters...) is getting the Machete treatment as well...with Rutger Hauer.
