Any body else having the issue of the forum pages taking as long as 2 minutes to load? I'm having the issue on more than 1 computer. I've checked settings, that's not it, run a scan, that's not it. My phone loads quickly with no problems, but desktop and laptop both will only load ECCIE Header and Header Ads. I leave it alone for a couple minutes and go back and it's finally loaded.
Even if I open Eccie again on a new browser page it does the same, Anyone have any ideas. I'm fairly tech savy, not a geek but can navigate pretty well.

Frustrating as hell!

PM me if you don't want to type out a bunch of steps if that's what it may take.

Thanks,
+1... im opening up in google chrome, loads normal..but on IExplorer it doesnt even load on mine

Yeah I'm on IE too. Really dont like Chrome too much. So it's a browser problem, google needs to get it fixed. How are us mongers supposed to monger.!

Same here and that's why I came to the Sandbox to see if it was a topic. Painfully slow and started recently. I don't want to load the Chrome browser, too much junk comes with it.

All,
Chrome works fine. You can limit the "junk" that comes with it during the load process. Just "uncheck" the options you don't need. It has no more "junk" than IE. I find that it works much better loading Google Maps than IE.
Mokoa stated that the site was under a DDOS attack profile... Shiite...

There are items in the pages that run Flash and try to retrieve current content. The servers hosting that content do not always respond, so the page sits there waiting for it. Disabling Flash as chicagoboy suggested should cure that. IE users seem to be the most severely affected, Firefox users rarely affected and Chrome users so far report not being affected. I use Firefox and although I have experienced some slowness sometimes I have yet to experience any stalling.

If a page takes to long to finish loading, you may also click on the button that tells the browser to stop loading the page.

i posted about this earlier elsewhere on the board.

this site is taking a while for me to load on firefox from my desktop and from googles browser on my android.

but when i navigate the site using dolphin browser on my android phone, its loads quickly/normally. so i recommend trying out the dolphin browser for mobile phone use.

sadly, no dolphin for desktop.

Thanks to you all, I knew someone had the fix. Disabling the Shockwave add on fixed the slow loading problem. Loads faster than ever now
Thanks again, I owe someone a beer!
