Brian Kelly has made Notre Dame relevant again, and this time it won't be a one year wonder like in Charlie Weis' second year. Kelly has built winners before, at North Dakota State, Western Michigan, and Cincinnati. He's in South Bend to stay, and Notre Dame will take its rightful place among college football's elite once more.

Anyone who can put a whuppin' on Oklahoma could hang with either Fla or Ga; today was a classic letdown game that lesser teams would have lost. Championship caliber teams win games like these.

Sorry, but ND's offense would be smothered by Bama. Teams with a lot weaker defenses than Alabama have stopped ND (e.g. Pitt yestereday). I want to see Oregon go up against the Tide. If Bama can stop Oregon's offense they deserve to be #1.

Of course, any game would be more exciting than Alabama-LSU in the BCS championship game last year.

If it happens, I would host an open party to watch the game. Not sure if anyone would show up, but hell, free beer and pizza might get a couple folks to drop by.

Because ND doesn't play in a conference and doesn't have to worry about a conference championship, I think they have an advantage. Norte Dame, is relevant again. At least for the moment. They play, statistically, the most difficult schedule of any remaining unbeaten team. Don't discount the possibility that Southern Cal will be a 4 loss team by the time they play Notre Dame. It's not inconceivable that UCLA could take the Trojans down.

At Grand Valley State he had a run of 33-1, including 14-0 and a Division II national championship in 2002, with an overall winning percentage of about .750. In three years at Central Michigan he built a 9-4 team from a 4-7 team and won a bowl game. He was 34-6 in four years at Cincinnati, including an unbeaten regular season of 12-0 in 2009. Now he has done what many didn't think possible; rebuilt Notre Dame without compomising the academic standards that the administration wants to keep intact. When all is said and done, I believe Brian Kelly will be mentioned in the same breath as Rockne, Leahy, Parseghian, and Holtz amoung Notre Dame's legendary great coaches.
