Obama Did Something Last Week That Was Similar to Hitler

May 1 has, at least in recent times, been the signal day for Communist, Socialist, or any other political persuasion that's has a primary function of taking from one group and giving to another in the name of equality.

President Obama did his self no favors by making any declarations on that particular day. Especially when that Declaration is ripe with the idea that we all some how need to be reminded to be Loyal to our Country.

I am Loyal to The Constitution. All of it, from the part that gives the Government the right to tax my hard earned dollars, to the part that allows me to keep and bear arms for what ever purpose I choose. Originally Posted by Jackie S

You don't see the eerie similarities, do you, CBJ7? That is because the Obamatron has you under its control. You need to heed the following advice:

I love a good Obama bashing as much as the next guy, but not when its at the expense of truth. Dammit.

Loyalty Day has been around for half a century. We can debate the value of it (seems pretty stupid to me), but unfortunately Obama didn't invent the idea. In signing the Proclamation, Obama simply did what every President since Eisenhower has done.

I think we are to strong of a country to tolerate terrorism. But they keep shoving it down our throats. Iam ready for the last chapters on our conflicts in the Middle East, and this bogus war on terrorism. If it doesn't come soon we're fucked. Originally Posted by acp5762

From Sins' article:

When: Always on May 1st

Loyalty Day is an opportunity to express and reaffirm our loyalty to our country. In proclaiming this day, President George W. Bush wrote: "We express allegiance to our Nation and its founding ideals, we resolve to ensure that the blessings of liberty endure and extend for generations to come."

But, this day did not start with George Bush' proclamation. It dates back to the 1920's.

On Loyalty Day, we reaffirm our allegiance to our country and resolve to uphold the vision of our Forefathers. We should also take a moment to appreciate the members of our armed forces who are displaying the ultimate in loyalty and service to protect our freedoms, and liberty, and our way of life.

Origin of Loyalty Day: Loyalty Day was first celebrated in the 1920's. Communism was on the rise, and feared in America. At the time, May Day (May 1st) was perceived by some as a Communist holiday. In a sense, Loyalty Day was intended to counter this.

The U.S. Congress made this an official holiday on July 18, 1958 with the signing of Public Law 85-529. Then President Dwight D. Eisenhower, proclaimed May 1, 1959 the first official observance of Loyalty Day.

Sins, you are correct. I was wrong. I did not know this was a tradition.

I HEREBY RETRACT MY POST, AND CONGRATULATE PRESIDENT OBAMA FOR CONTINUING THIS TRADITION ACCORDING TO THE ORIGINAL MEANING OF THE DAY!

I will also publicly, at least here, apologize to the President for the comparison I made. He was not deserving of it this time, in fact, I am glad he made the proclamation.

Now, have at it boys. I don't make mistakes very often, so you better enjoy this one.

I think we can safely let this little tradition go considering most Americans have never even heard of it.
