'Duck Dynasty' launches gun line
The weapons manufacturer O.S. Mossberg & Sons struck a deal with Duck Commander, the hunting calls company owned by the stars of the A&E show, to release a “Duck Commander” series of firearms.
Mossberg’s website features 12 Duck Commander guns, including rifles, shotguns and a pistol. All come in waterfowl cammo, feature an engraved Duck Commander logo and come with an American flag bandana like the one company CEO and “Duck Dynasty” star Willie Robertson wears on the show.
“The Duck Commander franchise was built on hard work, family values and our great American heritage. As an iconic, hardworking American product, made by a family-owned company, Mossberg is a perfect partnership for our team,” Roberston said in the release.
The family and show has been the subject of controversy after anti-gay and racially charged remarks made by the family patriarch, Phil Robertson, in a magazine interview. After an initial suspension by A&E, Robertson has been reinstated and the network will be making new episodes including him going forward.
