In this hobby of ours... Is PhotoShop "Misrepresentation"?

Photoshop. What a great piece of technology. Turning every day folks into photo touch up specialists and "professional photographers"

My topic here is...... In this hobby of ours, isn't this misleading? Eccie is like a candy store with endless amounts of candy to choose from. Would make sense that things should be represented exactly how you would unwrap them. Right? or wrong? We have all had the disappointment of ordering a food item from a picture, getting it and it looks NOTHING like it did in the picture!

Interested in a peaceful and constructive discussion here.

Me personally I appreciate non photoshopped photos for our purposes here. This way there are no surprises when meeting for the first time.

It is very easy to spot a photoshopped photo. How you ask....

I appreciate a lady who is comfortable in her own skin, and does not have the need to use photoshop for their advertisements. My comparison would be if you listed an item for sale on Ebay using a "stock" photo, and not a photo of your actual item, which may have scratches, blemishes, etc. Your buyer is probably going to be very upset and not leave a great feedback score.

What about everyone else? Is this an issue with you? Would love to hear!

I hate seeing a girls beautiful showcase pics with flawless skin only to meet her in person and see her Sancho's name tattooed on her neck in big Old English letters.

Conveniently enough her pictures were taken from the front side. Can't really say this is in the same category as we are discussing, but was a shock! don't get me wrong I like my girls to be dirty girls, but that kind of in your face statement was SHOCKING. Here I am saying, oh shit, surely no way in hell I can measure up to that.!!!

Ahh, this topic's been discussed SO many times

And I still say the same..
To me, I dont think anyone should Photoshop pics!
(UNLESS ITS A LADY WHO CHOOSES NOT TO PUBLISH HER FACE IN PICS)

I have thought about it in past, to fix things like blemishes, but still
pass everytime (photographers are always pushy to want to Photoshop)
and can say NONE of mine have been or ever will be! I just feel like Its kinda false advertising really. Thats just me though.

I honestly remove my tat of my childs name I dont feel like everybody needs to know that info if we haven't met.
True, true and then there's the case (which we just saw in full in another Co-ed thread) where she was trying to cover very revealing and unique tats and poor Sweet Cara was wrongly vilified...

I for one am a clean canvass.... as are you Darlin'!

How's that for shameless sucking up! And dear how much I want to be doing totally unabashed sucking up... when is your "Candi's DATY Tutorial" coming out (so to speak!)

ok well I personally PS out my tattoo BECAUSE It is my own design so it's unique not like anyone else is running around with the same thing and if I get outed or have my pics blasted to my family not like I can be all "well lots of girls have that tattoo" it's not me.

ALSO I do sometimes have to lighten up my pics so you can see me better visually being a dark skinned girl it take more light to see me well in pics

also I have light tone stretch marks in the side of my bum. personally I don't know why, been the since HS ad No never been preggo. BUT the stretch marks don't show up in my pics i do NOT photoshop them out. maybe my cam just doesn't take visually intense pro pics or whatever that show every lil blemish.

if that is "Misrepresentation" then so be it. but I have had several guys say based off my pics they thought I was bigger when they met me in person and I hear 'you look prettier in person' alot too. hearing I look better in person is always a confusing compliment
I feel the same as the ladies... I use Photoshop for other things, but the only thing I've used it for on myself is "erasing" my tattoos. They are all very unique and identifying (I don't have many so it's easy) and the last thing I would want is my photos here ending up in my real life friend's/fam hands.

I have no objection to ladies using photo shop to hiding tats that they could potentially be identified with. I do object to ladies changing the appearance or shape of their body.
