How is it that Obamacare is gaining traction when just recently the Obama administration suspended the so-called individual mandate requiring individuals to purchase health insurance or pay a penalty. The delay will be good until at least 2016. I think if Obamacare was doing so well and enrollments were steady rising a delay wouldn't even need to be implemented.

Gaba estimates the number of exchange members at somewhere between 3.65 million and 4.73 million as of the beginning of March. That makes it look plausible, if not certain, that the total will reach 6 million by the end of open enrollment, March 31. And that figure is the revised projection for 2014 enrollment from the Congressional Budget Office-- pared down from its original target of 7 million, because of the well-known technical problems suffered in October and November by the HealthCare.gov website. It's important to remember that experts expect the pace of enrollments to pick up steam all through this month, as the deadline approaches.

With all due respect ... it was not DESIGNED ... to help 40 million.

That was the hype (and apparently still is) to get it passed ....

The 40 to 50 million number was debunked and has been repeatedly.

Now how does a MEDICAID recipient HELP provide insurance coverage for others?

For instance ... ask YouRong .... how he provides insurance coverage for other people!!

The ACA is a failure ... I just saw a report that there have been 34 executive changes to the law. 34

It's true that Gadfly and Whirly can not read a column graph. I didn't think you had that problem. Without a doubt there are about 40 million U.S. citizens that are uninsured in 2013. If you count the illegal immigrants it would be closer to 50 million. Since the illegal immigrants are not eligible for Obamacare or expanded Medicaid, they are not counted.

You will get the Medicaid if you are a family of 4 and your yearly income is < $24,000. You must make more than $24,000 to qualify for an Obamacare policy. People who make less than $24,000 and receive a W2 pay taxes on that income.

The ACA is going forward. With 4 million signups the insurance exchanges are stable. The health insurance companies will continue to sell policies on the exchanges in 2015 and beyond. The only way the ACA will fail is if the health insurance companies stop selling policies on the government exchanges. The health insurance companies will continue to sell polices on the exchange because the risk pool of 4+ million people have enough healthy people in it, that will allow the health insurance companies to make a profit on the government exchanges.

it's actually becoming rather comical.

Can't produce facts, just spin, lies and more lies.

And thousands continue to sign up very day.

4 million "signups' ... which doesn't mean they HAVE insurance.

Even the administration predicted 7 million was required to be viable.

Where are the other 36 million (according to your numbers) who want insurance and could not get it before the ACA?

the often quoted 50 million regurgitated …

……….can you read bar graphs? Or can you just read some bar graphs?

That radical conservative rag…

“President Barack Obama's health care reform law aims to extend health insurance coverage to a large portion of the uninsured. According to the Congressional Budget Office, health care reform will reduce the number of uninsured people by 27 million between next year and 2023.
“Obamacare targets its assistance to the poor and near-poor who are least likely to have health care coverage. The law will provide Medicaid coverage to those with incomes up to 133 percent of the poverty level ($15,282 for a single person this year) -- unless they live in a state that opts out of the Medicaid expansion. People who earn between the poverty level and four times that amount will be eligible for tax credits for private health insurance.”
http://spectator.org/articles/41931/myth-46-million
This article cites legitimate sources used to challenge the numbers …
Of the alleged 46 million “uninsured”…
9.7 .,. illegal immigrants
14 .. eligible for Medicaid and SCHIP, not signed up or denied using it
26 .. million made enough to be insured, but didn’t get insurance

Here are the last paragraphs in the post, which points to the problem..

When all of these factors are put together, the 2003 BlueCross BlueShield study determined that 8.2 million Americans are actually without coverage for the long haul, because they are too poor to purchase health care but earn too much to qualify for government assistance. Even being without insurance still doesn't mean they won't have access to care, because federal law forbids hospitals from denying treatment to patients who show up at the emergency rooms.

This exercise isn't about downplaying the problems facing the American health care system, but a necessary part of devising the proper remedies. Under current state laws, mandates force insurers to provide certain benefits, meaning that young and healthy Americans must choose between paying exorbitant premiums to cover treatments that they don't need or going without health insurance. Many of these so-called "young invincibles" who are included in the ranks of the uninsured could be wooed into the market were they allowed to purchase catastrophic insurance with lower monthly premiums.

"Right now, the tax code exempts people from paying taxes on health care benefits purchased through their employer, while denying the same tax advantages to individuals. Ending this discrimination would make health care more affordable to those who are self-employed or not covered through their workplace. In addition, this would allow Americans to have health care policies that are portable, so it would reduce the gaps in coverage people can face when they quit or lose a job.

"Those pushing for a major government intervention in health care are distorting the 46-million statistic to boost their cause, and by disseminating it so widely without further elaboration, the media is rigging the game in their favor."

When a program signs up people who qualify for government assistance for the health care, like Medicaid and SCHIPS, then that is NOT PROVIDING INSURANCE FOR the 'UNINSURED U..S. CITIZENS"... and then when a program provides supplements to help people pay for premiums ... all that program is ... is another "entitlement program' disguised as "health care reform" ... it improves nothing .. and the remainder of the population... the taxpayers ... will either pay increased taxes to cover it or increased premiums to make up the shortfall.

Please note: The formula for qualification for entitlements.

Put your blinders on and hold your nose again when you vote for POTUS ...

Myth: People will remain uninsured without government assistance.

Fact: The Congressional Budget Office says that 45 percent of the uninsured will be insured within four months. CBO Director Douglas Holtz-Eakin also said that the frequent claim of 40+ million Americans lacking insurance is an “incomplete and potentially misleading picture of the uninsured population.”

Fact: Liberal non-profit Kaiser Family Foundation put the number of uninsured Americans who do not qualify for government programs and make less than $50,000 a year between 8.2 million and 13.9 million. (The 8.2 million figure includes only those uninsured for two years or more.)

Fact: CBO analysis found that 36 million people would remain uninsured even if the Senate’s $1.6 trillion health care plan is passed.

"Traction"?

So we got 4 million "signed up" out of 40 million .... EQUALS ...... 36 million!!!!!!

Not only can I read "bar graphs" I can do math!!!!
