I am entitled to be compensated properly for my LABOR and to call out time-wasting douchebags who haggle over rates. I do not however think that I am entitled to other people's labor at a discount simply because I am who I am, or to waste people's time whose labor I refuse to pay the going rate for by contacting them to complain about their rates. Also - DO NOT spoil the "natural alliance" between military folk and escorts. When I joined the military in the early '80's - we WERE NOT considered heroes. Instead ... civilians hated us ... fathers hid their daughters from us ... we were labelled as "high risk" carriers of STD's ... and any girl brave enough to go out even once with one of us was immediately labelled a "whore".

I do remember the time when military men were classed in the same group with hookers ... and basically shunned for the most part.

But when I was active, back then - the hookers had no problem with us and identified with us. My units got into some stressful jams ... it was the hookers who helped relieve that stress and bring us back to the real world. Yeah - we paid them - we pay doctors too don't we? Do you think every Doctor views his patient as a piece of meat? A source of income? Though a few do - I would submit the majority do not. They got into it because they thought they had something to offer.

What do you think WALMART views you as though? Or any other retail outlet for that matter? You're a sheep with a wallet. Yet - you still patronize them don't you?

But, point being - there should be no one more thankful for - and more able to identify with hookers than military men. You may be a "hero" to most today - but the pendulum swings and the favor of the general public is fickle. I have seen it first hand. Had a girlfriend in New London, CT and the only way I could I take her on dates was for her to sneak out and walk 1/4 mile to my car - which was quite a trick in the day before cellphones. I had to usually borrow a phone at someone's house in the neighborhood - and some wouldn't let me in because I they recognized from the short hair that I was military.

We are no better than these ladies DATY and we need to remember that.
