Can't help but find this all interesting. If I'm reading this right what Whispers is asking and what is being perhaps not quite understood is this:
Providers sharing Driver's License amongst selves to screen: Expected
Provider offering Driver's License to anyone who wants it (including hobbyists): Is that OK?
Is that OK even if there are a number of credible reports by respected providers that the guy is robbing, threatening and intimidating providers in order to enable some kind of deserved retribution?
I can see how that's a question worthy of discussion, even if one might speculate that the question was offered as a veiled criticism. To date the consensus has been "no. never. period." Is the new consensus "special exception if enough people are convinced the guy's dangerous enough"?
Obviously at some level the answer to that is yes. If everyone thinks you did right, no consequence to you. However are there other consequences, like an increased unwillingness to provide screening information based on the fear that the bar may shift again, or in the event one is unfairly accused?
Why isn't anyone willing to discuss the pros and cons of that?
