Bush had C's in boarding school in Connecticut and a father who was in Congress. I don't know what Obama's grades were in College, but his father went to Harvard. I am sure that kind of connection may have helped him. Any applicant to an Ivy league school is going to get some extra consideration if they had a parent that went there. That's just the way it is.
