demise of Playboy

But the point of this thread is not jacking off. It is a business example of how a once promising
and almost monopolistic business turned into a worthless pile. And no real fault of theirs. Just
the destruction of a viable business plan by technological advance.

And speaking of a worthless pile. Donald Trump has run one publicly owned company. Completely ran it into the ground, shareholders were wiped out. But he did manage to siphon off millions of dollars in fee payments from the publicly owned company to his private companies owned by him.

That's what he really means when he says "I made a lot of money in Atlantic City."

Kodak is another company whose management dismissed the digital revolution as a fad until it was too late. Boardroom fossils.
Exactly; they want to be more like Maxim with more of a focus on prestige writing. Originally Posted by Natalie_Jacobs

I grew up when Playboy was King. There was no Penthouse or Hustler then. My Dad bought a bay house and it had a storage building. Inside I found a chest filled with Playboys. I whacked off for years with them. I remember some of the pages getting stuck together with spooge.

Man that's like the old guy stories where you walk 12 miles to go to school by today's standards. Hard to even think about whacking it to a still pic anymore.
A sign of times have changed. PB was good back then along with Penthouse. Why buy magazines when you got online stuff now.

You have money you will attract women. You think they flock to Hef for his good looks, sexuality, I don't think so. Time to move on and so should Hef but by the looks like he can't.

The tangent about Hef is good for more talk.

How was he supposed to be in the bedroom - a normal guy ?

Those Playboy guys felt those that had to wait 10 minutes for a porn picture to download over a dial up modem had it easy, and so on.
