Creating "favorites" lists?

Is there a way to keep lists of providers like favorites, short listed, whatever? It seems like a basic feature but I can't figure out out if it's available. I really don't want to keep a software list.

Use your Contact List or your Notepad. Both can be found in your User CP.

I see that adding a lady to my Contacts, adds them to a thing called my Buddy List.
Do/can providers see who has added them to a Buddy List?
