There's no reason to believe he's lying about his Mod status. There are many unannounced Mods (sort of on stand by as needed) and that strategy makes good business sense. As he's stated he has a financial stake in the site which implies part of a minority ownership. I would venture to guess the % ownership (financial stake) is probably in the neighborhood of 1-5%.

If you have further doubts you can always see how the announced Mods stay relatively quiet when he goes off on them publicly for any reason. That's a pretty good indication that at least they silently acknowledge his status or position. I'm sure most Mods may not particularly care for his brand but they don't have the pull or even back office access that he likely has.

Just my 2 cents. ;-)

I'm going to put in my application to become a Mod as well. I would make a good fair and balanced Mod just like Wise King Solomon of Bible times. I've already inquired about this or put out feelers diplomatically through back channel contacts.
