Busy all this week kissing the Blarney Stones of my favorite fellows, but I saved the hooligan holiday itself for ME. Having a hard time deciding exactly how to toast the land of my origin. A lovely lad and I went to the 40th Annual FM 1960 St. Paddy's Parade yesterday honoring Harvey Heroes, and the 59th Annual Houston St. Patrick's Parade downtown this Saturday will be much more impressive, I'm sure.

There's several Irish-themed festivals, too, including one in The Woodlands. Then, of course, which pub to crawl? Or I could stay at the Irish Chihuahua Refuge, chill and grill yet MORE steak (not forgetting the sides of cabbage and potatoes) with friends and appropriate beverages like green beer and Jameson, and dress the poor, embarrassed wee woofs in kilts and tams!

Hmmm, decisions, decisions...

By the way, the proper way to refer to the short form of the saint's day or an Irish behind is PADDY, please, NEVER Patty! Patty is a girl or what's in a burger, whereas Paddy comes from Pádraig, the Gaelic spelling of Patrick.
