It is true that it is ridiculous to take to heart the derogatory posts that are said on the internet, but, I do understand why some do respond to the ones that throw out lies and assumptions as facts if for nothing else to deny the baseless accusatons as some people care about their reputation.

The problem with that theory of not taking things so intently is those that do spread the disinformation are expecting others to take it seriously and not only believe them at their word, but also have others carry their water for them, and many times, they do, repeating it so often that it becomes fact, to them anyway.

As I have said many times, the best way to combat those kinds of trolls is to get as many people as possible to quote the disparaging remarks and ask the poster to provide verifiable links as the reason for the post. A troll with an agenda will either ignore the request, deflect or evade it.

In regards to the subject premise of this thread, if Texas Jess would have not responded to the accusation, or if she felt she had to, all she needed to do was tell the OP to RTM those supposed PMs that he said she sent and be finished posting in the thread. Then, after some time, when he failed to do so (even at a mod's request twice), then the OP would have been labled as a boy who cried wolf to get a reaction that never came by the mods and other members exposing his true reason for starting the thread to begin with.
