“Dallas PD’s vice unit was re-established late last year to combat prostitution, obscenity laws and gambling, according to a Dallas City Hall memo posted in October.”

This quote was from one of the WFAA articles.
How much do you want to bet (pun intended) that you don’t here about any game rooms getting busted any time soon. How quick would she lose her job if they go in and pull out 4 or 5 city officials and a handful of high powered lawyers along with some Dallas elite from any of the big card rooms with in spitting distance of her office. They are going to go after the low hanging fruit and make themselves look like they are “cleaning things up” when in actuality more money moves through a gaming room in one day than all three of those places that got hemmed up in a week.

Anyone notice the dates on the photos ? The date on the camera could be wrong but still weird. Also the gps coordinates are included.
So, this new Chief of Police is basically working her way through all the AMP's in Dallas...or was the "point made" and things are going to normalize?

Gotta think twice about going in today or tomorrow. Probably cools down after that.

The vice unit was reformed in large part due to area businesses complaining about the proliferation of visible prostitution in their neighborhoods. The pressure will continue for the foreseeable future as long as citizen complaints continue. The long term impact is anyone’s guess.

Lewisville and Commerce search warrants were for the homes of two of the alleged owners of AMPs. Also an arrest in Made in Hawaii.
I wonder how many previous busts had the news on site and a Greyhound bus hauling people (presumably the Amp providers) off. My point is that if we compare this to previous busts we can determine how serious it is.
Did busts in the past involve a mobile command center? I’m inclined to think they did not.

I do agree it is the beginning of something. Just how successful they are depends on how much money they want to throw at the problem. They apparently were hampered in the past by corruption in the unit. If they’ve been successful in cleaning that up they may get a lot further than previous efforts.
If they keep making busts they will eventually find their own LE officers, judges and prosecutors as johns. That’s going to be very embarrassing.
