Ahhhh yes, Rick's.

I see they haven't changed their ways since their very first Rick's club in Houston in the 80's.

I think they may also be one of only two or possibly even the only one publicly traded company that owns strip clubs.

I remember it was $1.85 a share on their prospectus when I was given a copy of it right before their IPO in 1995.

I didn't bite.

If I remember correctly in 24 years, their stock per share price has never gone higher than $33-35 and that is recently.

Before that it went as high as $27 but the rest of the time it floundered at under $20 and under $10 most of the past 24 years.

They own all these strip clubs, night clubs and restaurants including Bombshell.

They also own sports bars and adult websites:

ironically, the first strip club opened on Broadway, in San Francisco, in about 1966.. it's still in operation.

sfgate is one of the worse websites you can go to with their g00.com cookies that they put on your computer by the 100's with expiration date of up to 20 years just for opening only ONE of their pages plus it bogs down your computer, hogs the RAM and takes several long minutes to load - many times taking as long as 10 minutes or more to load one webpage - even if you have a computer with the fastest processing speed and the internet with the fastest download speed available.

It's one of several websites that use the g00.com adware insertion cookies along with JustJared, IGN, Mashable, Ranker, Latimes, San Diego Tribune, Newsweek, TVGuide, CNet and many dozen others, most of them websites for questionable news reporting agencies.

One of my SBs works at that Rick's and she said the allegations are pretty much bullshit and it's a buyers remorse situation like these things usually are, some guy gets wasted and can't say no to a beautiful naked woman, wife found the credit card bill, etc.

what's surprising is how scathing the newspaper article is. That immediate area is a SHIT hole with a dying mall and multiple closed businesses and homeless on the street and the article hints it's because of Ricks lol.

Then again, strip clubs make an easy bad-guy target I guess. Maybe Rick's will sell it off to someone that can compete with Bucks.

These are all the Rick's owned hospitality and service industry businesses.

Enter them and spend your money at any of them at the risk of your own personal safety and finances.

I started frequenting Rick’s after my normal place became a no go situation. I only take in what I am willing to lose and my wallet stays in the front pocket while cash stays in a different pocket. I’ve had many good times there over the recent months and never had issues. The day after valentines was slow at lunch, so I left without any fun, but otherwise I’ve never been disappointed wi5 my visits.

I originally started going there when it was NON, and it was so much better than the other options (ie Sinbad’s or Illusions)!
