This one hitting me hard!!

He was so good in so many movies, too many to name them all:

The French Connection, Bonnie And Clyde, The Conversation, Mississippi Burning, Reds, Hoosiers, The Package, Under Fire, Bat*21, Crimson Tide, Superman and Unforgiven

He won Best Actor Oscar in a leading role for The French Connection and Best Actor Oscar in a supporting role for Unforgiven.

The article says Oscar-winning US actor Gene Hackman, his wife Betsy Arakawa and their dog have been found dead at their home in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

Maybe a gas leak?

I really liked him too. So great in so many movies. He had disappeared from the public eye a while back, probably due to his health. He was getting up there in years.
Mysterious circumstances. But I hope he is resting in peace.

I saw a photo of him taken by the paparazzi a year ago , , ,

and you would not had recognize him if it wasn't for the news story identifying him as Gene Hackman.

Great actor. He almost got the part of Mike Brady on the original Brady Bunch TV show. He decided to pursue his movie career instead. He made the right choice.
Semper Fi, my fellow Marine, RIP
Honestly I believe anyone who lives to 95 shouldn't be happy with that. It's like when Kobe died, everyone talks about him and his daughter. No one mentions the other passengers as if their lives don't matter. The whole thing sounds suspect. How did him and his wife die on the same day 30 years apart. No one wants to die but to live to 95 ain't bad at all. Poor wife died/killed/ perhaps murder suicide at 65.i honestly feel more for her than him.

Definitely one of the greats. I didn’t realize it had been over 20 years since he last took on a role. It really hasn’t seemed that long.

Anyone would be proud to have that body of work.

Just read that they ruled out carbon monoxide poisoning. No evidence of physical trauma on either. May be a few months before the toxicology reports come back.
Gene was 95, that's way past the finish line for most men.
He may have just succumbed to natural causes. Maybe his wife decided life without him was not worth living.

I really like what Tom Hanks said about him.
"There has never been a Gene Hackman type."

Which is really unique considering he usually played "everyman" characters.

I just read that news story too

Gene Hackman and his wife test negative for carbon monoxide
I can buy your theory but what about the dead dog?

Dogs don't commit suicide.
They are saying his pacemaker stopped working 10 days before his death. Then they found pills by her body. No one is that important that you got to go too. They are saying it was likely his last day because of the body decomposition. Why kill the dog too?

Just speculating here
The dog could've eaten some of those pills? Starved? Or died of thirst?

Shame about the dog, either way.
