Can someone update me?

On what the hell happened. I had to step away after just getting started, and then got stranded in another country for a while. Then a bunch of other shit happened. So now I’m back and things are very different. Seems like providers are gone or just not on ECCIE anymore? I knew I was coming back in as a complete newbie but didn’t expect DFW to turn into a provider desert on Eccie. So……What the hell happened?

Various federal and state laws targeting the hobby caused this site in particular to make changes to avoid getting shut down. Also. Solicitation of prostitution is now a felony in Texas, and local LE has been particularly aggressive in north Texas in using these tools to disrupt the hobby.

It’s having an impact.

Not sure what that is but it sounds like something that should be expensive and fun

Per the new law, only law makers, law enforcers, law adjudicators and holy book thumpers can indulge in hobby, without any consequences. For the hoi polloi, it's a felony.

Stick with ladies who are verified through reviews and other reports on this site and similar (eg, oh2). Get a p411 membership. Stay off of listcrawler (the rough equivalent of BackPage) unless you are feeling adventurous.

By and large, the independent ladies are the safest and if they have been around a while they are less likely to get caught up in legal entanglements that involve their clients. That really isn’t any different from the old days, just more important than ever.

Oh2 (ourhome2.net) is the closest equivalent to the “old” eccie, but it’s subject to outages thanks to DDOS attacks that sometimes knock it out for awhile. That has caused it to have some annoying quirks, but when it is up it is usable. Being a member of both sites (Eccie and oh2) allows you to navigate the hobby and find local girls similar to the old days, but there is little argument that the population of quality companionship at a reasonable price is much harder to come by now.

This is by no means a complete tutorial, but a few pieces of advice to get you reacclimated.

Thanks for the advice. I’d just dip right out again but I’m married to work and some female company is nice every once in a while. I was always very discerning about where I find company and seeing all the RR and LC reports while not seeing any on independents from this site had me balking a bit. I’ll try the P411. I followed a link to OH2 when I first got back and it says my IP is banned and I’ve never even heard of it. Maybe it’s because of the problems or VPN though? Anyways we’ll get it figured out. Many people, myself included, get random "your ip address has been banned" errors. Sometimes with my VPN on, others not. If my VPN is on, I just change to another city and it usually resolves it.
