Honestly they play a very small part in the first book, more like comedic relief. They kind of reminded me of the Nazi bikers from those Clint Eastwood Orangutan movies.

Anyway, the books are entertaining but get progressively weirder. The third one has a UFO doomsday cult out in Horseheads NY.
