Why Pittsburgh?

I am a bit curious, why does the Pittsburgh sandbox remain dominated by a few people who keep posting threads, when ECCIE has a national political forum?

... YOU can post whatever topic you wish, mate.

... I surely 'appin to be a worldly fellow, and can converse
on almost any subject... Some lads here ALSO post in the
political forum - I'm one of them.

... People are gonna converse where they wanna converse, I reckon.

The Sandbox is a collection of off-topic discussions. People can talk about whatever they like.

Staying up to date with current events impacting the direction of the country are important IMO. Not everyone has the chance to keep up with the current news - so hopefully some topics give them another outlet to do so
... See? ... Posting "politics" and what-not here in the
Pittsburgh forum IS Free Speech, mate. ...

No. We're bound by the forum guidelines of a private business.

Free speech / 1st amendment protect us from the government not the ECCIE staff. Those who have received points or been banned before recognize that.

As for the politics, staff choice you're free to agree or disagree... respectfully

I started posting here in the Pittsburgh sandbox because I found the quality of the discussion to be of a higher class than the National political forum.

It tends to get rowdier there and there are more trolls posting nonsense threads.
We get infractions for straying one centimeter off topic (some of us do anyway - others are held to a different standard). There's no right to "free speech" in this forum.

AND-

Red blooded REdHATS are given MUCH more latitude than folks who are middle road or left in my opinion; despite the flame baiting, the outright name calling and such.

I'd imagine those same folks complaining about posts have a larger RTM button installed on their screens. I mean some probably confuse it with their MGM spin button on their gambling app.
One thing is obvious about the point system is there’s no penalty for posting misinformation or outright lies.

If so, 3-4 of you lefties would be perma banned.

I'd say the amount of baloney is 3:1 ratio from our Alternative Facts team. Points are to put some salve on the bubbling lips of the crybabies here- (and keeps the threads on track) - usually to conform to conservative perspectives as they in the past were the more prolific posters and had control of thread titles and any dissention was met with MOD help. It does keep the lid on the pot of many contentious postings and is also the same reason you don't see any Dem perspectives on the titles that would denote the old gotcha types of post such as "Are you still an alcoholic, or did you stop beating your wife".

Perma Bans....we've seen a few here but usually for blatant stupidity.
