Tariff Man and his tariff plan cause market plunges

wow, you and tommy are really starving for any tiny morsel on this subject, lol

even the report says "not by alot, but enough to show"

and it is still below the inflation rate from january 2025

so the "big bad horrible" inflation causing bullshit that was predicted because of tarriffs never happened

Also, inflation takes time to catch up to policy. There was never going to be an immediate spike because of the tariffs. And truth be told, if he hadn't chickened out of his tariff threats so many times, prices would be even higher now.

The fucking clown has no idea what he's doing, and he will never be able to lower prices on anything by imposing tariffs. That's not how tariffs work.

Funny part is, he's learning all this in real time, which is why he keeps dangling the carrot, then pulling it back. Hence, TACO trump.

The even funnier part is that anyone who knows anything about economics was trying to tell him this way before the shitshow started. But, trump always acts first and listens never. It's all been so predictably embarrassing.
You guys keep going to an inflation discussion. That’s a different but valid discussion. Looking at strictly the market, Trump is doing ok.
Now the dow is above 46,000! Cha-ching!
I agree. If you understand how to play the Trump "game" it's easy to make money in the market.
The thing is Trump has nothing to do with the market going up, except maybe pressuring the fed to lower rates. Just like most other presidents, unless the do something dramatic.

Stephen Moore, yes, THAT Stephen Moore, wrote a great opinion piece in the journal today regarding tariffs and the impact on U.S. jobs? You see it?

Excellent opinion piece on how Trump's framing of the tariffs and ire at the courts who may overturn them miss the forest for the trees.

The U.S. won't end if they're overturned. In fact some of the expectations of his tariff tantrums being struck down is already priced into the markets.

They should rule that he acted beyond his presidential Powers - and is in violation of his oath of office. Clearly Congress is given the rights to declare tariffs as outlined in the Constitution. Is it an impeachable offense? Is the question that limbs above this administration along with all the other nefarious bad actions they've done so far.

All that for a different thread.

Since most of the polled CEO's said that Trariffman's tariff tantrum has hurt their businesses, one must wonder how high the stock market would be if not for the tantrum day market dip
this might not directly be about the market, but it is an effect of trumps tariffs
