Cases starting to pop up in Virginia, and more culls are expected as vultures have become a vector for farm and backyard layer flocks to become infected or to be a pass through to ducks and dairy cows en route to egg laying chickens.

Now we don't have to worry a lot about SW VA culls affecting our prices directly, but the potential for migrations means our flocks could be at risk. And that could send egg prices up, up, up

Hey Gristle, didja catch that 4-day sale at Shop'nSave last week? Large Grade A eggs from Hillandale were $0.99 a dozen!

Yep, go back a page. Oldman had you beat

Hope you shelled out $1.98 for your 2-dozen limit and celebrated by cooking some 4-egg omelettes!

2 eggs and a nice smoked strip, plus some home fries and Italian toast.

But I got my eggs from my coworkers backyard flock

6.6 million culls in the past 30 days alone. That's bound to go up. And with fall and the migration we better hope there's a solid response by the admin or we'll be importing more eggs.

Though we're seeing the flu pop up all over the world. 400k layers in Germsny for example. Would be a shame if egg prices went up again after they never made it all the way back down

63k egg layers infected just recently at 3 farms in Indiana
