Tariff Man and his tariff plan cause market plunges

Hmmm... just to make sure everyone understands you correctly.

We have 2 leaders. You view both as liars. One of them is attempting to advance the economic interests of the United States, while the other is working to undermine those interests. Again, you view both as liars. But when the Chinese leader is caught brazenly lying, you somehow blame the US leader.

Do I understand you correctly? In our bilateral trade negotiations, you are actively rooting for China and applauding whenever you think the US is getting played?

trump doesn't have the cards to make those kinds of threats. China is too important to the big picture for donnie diaperload to be so cavalier about this shit.

If you honestly believe threatening our biggest trade partner with gigantic tariffs is solid trade policy, you clearly don't understand what it takes either.

Of course this is all trump's fault. It, quite literally, can't be anyone else's.

You have to understand what you saw from March/April of this year, when Trump/Bessent/Lutnick rolled out the Great Trade Reset Using Reciprocal Tariffs.

How all the people who were part of the offshoring of all of those industries, part of the deal-making of those mind-boggling insane one-sided trade deals that had been made for decades, LOST THEIR FREAKING MINDS once they saw what the Trump White House was about to do.

They made MASSIVE PROFITS off of the old system. They spent DECADES carefully building it. They were to this year still reaping massive profits from keeping all those industries OUT OF OUR COUNTRY and OFF SHORED OVERSEAS.

The moment they saw what Trump planned to do, they expended MAJOR CAPITAL and all their media resources screaming over and over again that what Trump/Bessent/Lutnick planned to do with this Great Trade Reset was CAAARAAAAAYYYZEEEEE, and all the sane people in DC needed to STOP THIS IMMEDIATELY and PREVENT IT FROM HAPPENING.

And by June?

They knew they'd lost.

And it all went away.

Now all you've gotten for the last 5 months is Rand Paul coming out and babbling about how the 'tariffs' are a 'tax' on Americans and how Congress really needs to take the tariff power away from the President.

And the more the RESULTS become increasingly apparent, even Rand Paul is gonna finally move on.

BREAKING: President Trump is taking a MASSIVE victory lap on the “Experts”

“Tariffs are creating GREAT WEALTH, and unprecedented National Security for the USA. Trade deficit has been cut by 60%, totally unheard of. 4.3% GDP, and going way up. No inflation!!! We are respected as a Country again.”

Tariffman's tariffs and associated trade policies were major contributors to a 14% increase in bankruptcy filings this year.

We "don't have the cards"? Think again, jv. We buy 3x as much from China as they buy from us. So it logically follows that if two-way trade stopped tomorrow, it would directly and immediately put more Chinese out of work than Americans.

If you honestly believe threatening our biggest trade partner with gigantic tariffs is solid trade policy, you clearly don't understand what it takes either.

Mexico is our biggest trade partner, not China. Do your homework before spouting off. Still waiting for you and Gristle to propose workable alternative strategies for reducing our gargantuan $1.2 trillion annual deficit in global merchandise trade.

Tell us again - whose economic interests are YOU trying to advance?

You're not even knowledgeable, nuanced or sophisticated enough to say - you agree with the goal, but you think Trump is going about it wrong. Then offer your own more constructive approach and explain why you think it might have a better chance of success.

That would require an understanding of trade policy which you lack. Easier to let your tds do the talking.

Meanwhile, Mexico has been set up nicely to reap the benefits of Tariffman's tantrums for the moment. Glad you mentioned them, Lusty.

Kudos for Mexico! I'll choose near-sourcing over far-sourcing any day of the week, Gristle! Better for supply-chain & border security. Also helpful in choking off [redacted] smuggling - and thereby saving the lives of thousands of our fellow American citizens! That's important to me, even if it isn't important to Democrats.

"Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum has worked hard to engage Trump and manage his use of trade as leverage on noneconomic issues. She has tightened drug enforcement along the border, expelled imprisoned cartel bosses wanted by the U.S. and imposed 50% tariffs on Chinese-made vehicles and other goods, defusing U.S. threats of harsher tariffs.

“Mexico has approached the relationship with the U.S. quite constructively..."

Thanks for reinforcing my point. Our trading partners are well-advised to cooperate (as Mexico is doing), not lie and break their promises like China.

When are we all getting that 2000 tariff rebate Trump has repeatedly promised us?

Go ask Jim Beam whose fucking fault this is. Go ask any farmer, who isn't dumb enough to believe that bailouts are the solution moving forward, whose fucking fault this is.

It's OBVIOUSLY trump's fault.

The buck stops at the fat fuck.

We've seen numerous sectors dragging. Manufacturing job losses instead of gains. Prices increase for consumers.
