Eggs

Weird that nobody wants to talk about eggs any more.

(U.S. national average retail price for Grade A large eggs, per dozen, BLS data):January 2025 (Trump inauguration): ~$4.95

Now (mid-January 2026, latest BLS for Dec 2025): $2.71 (prices still trending down)

~45% decrease from inauguration levels, thanks to flock recovery after 2025 bird flu crisis. (Wholesale even lower at ~$0.38/dozen recently.) Originally Posted by Green_Mountain

It's still around. They're playing loose with testing, among other things, to help keep prices down. Too bad they're still higher than they should be

There's a significant concern aboutless testing for bird flu (H5N1) in both livestock and humans, withfederal programs ending and limited incentives for farmworkers, potentially hiding the virus's true spread and increasing pandemic risk. While some experts say limited testing might be sufficient for detecting herd-level infections, critics argue that reduced testing creates blind spots, especially in asymptomatic animals or workers, making it harder to track transmission, develop vaccines, and prevent a broader outbreak, similar to early COVID-19 challenges.

I found a place that has eggs at 1500% off their highs.
Literally you get like 27.00 a dozen to take them. Saw the ad online in Washington DC.

You can look up the sale price, it ends Sunday. Don’t question me “my dude”. Because you’re always wrong. Just like Gristle. You should know that by now.

BTW, are you still cocksure about the fiat currency system?

Start your own thread about the benefits of unbacked currency. And all the benefits that we have now. You bragged about your prowess on the subject.

Been a minute. Hillandale back to $2.99 a dozen and EB remains $5.49
HDGristle's Avatar
Hillandale is unavailable at GE. EB down to $3.59 which is the current national retail average

Only $0.60 cents to go.

Still double 2020 prices and 50% over 2022 prices. Sad.

GE appears to have switched from Hillandale to Crystal Spring

$2.09 a dozen for large, Grade A vs Egglands Best for $3.59 a dozen

$2.99 sale price on EB at GE. Still a $3.59 regular price.

Looks like Crystal has fully replaced Hillandale across the chain
