I always carry a battery jumper and air pump in the truck. New ones are small and work great.

I’ve had a few close calls over the years and they were all in the PreCovid era. I have had my car not start at a particular hotel at 1:00 in the morning … luckily I had AAA. The worst, though, is that I’ve been threatened (and not with their fists) and robbed three times a while back. In all cases, two guys would show up. Luckily, I was compliant and always escaped the situations without harm. But it could have easily gone the other way, especially one time when the guys seemed out of their minds (prohibited topic). I have to say that once was even in an very nice area in an apartment complex in Webster.

Today I am very cautious, very particular and I don’t hobby like I used to. I stay away from STG girls, unless they seem exceptional and have great reviews here.

You have to be very cautious now. Only see those rated well and Asians. Seldom have bad time with them.

30 years ago had a Grand Cherokee towed in to where I worked. Overheated seized engine. Damage to lower front bumper area. Lower radiator outlet broken.
Insurance adjuster was a friend. When he came in I pressed him for the story. Seems the owner was on Lyell looking for hookers when he ran over a deer hit by someone else causing the damage. But guy lived in Spencerport and had no reason to be in the city. So proceeded to drive his overheating, steam spewing Jeep until he was back in the burbs. Adjuster said he had to threaten no coverage without a story of why he kept driving. Really wasn’t expecting the truth 😂. Shit can happen. Be prepared.
