I don't think anyone has a problem paying the salaries of cops, firemen, teachers or even IRS agents who are compensated for performing a service. What I don't like is paying for the vast majority of their retirement plans and health care benefits.

When those blue lights show up in your rearview mirror, do you really feel safer? Let's not forget the current militarization of the police, and their complete disregard for the Constitution. I used to look up to the police, but they have lost a lot of credibility with me. At this point, I can only assume that it would take someone who is a complete fool, or outright morally bankrupt, to join a police force. Where the hell are the so-called good cops to out the bad apples? *crickets* Other than being a whore-monger, legally speaking, I'm as clean as a preachers sheets, so don't have any personal experiences with the police which have colored my view. I simply see them for what they are: enforcers for a government that is increasingly falling into the grip of petty tyranny.
Also, the IRS can burn in hell, and should be abolished.
