He had high ratings...very high ratings. However, advertisers shied away from his time slot...afraid that his negatives would brush off on him. Fox can make more money inserting any of their other personalities into that slot...a luxury other cable news networks don't have.

Many people don't remember this...but Limbaugh actually had a television show for a while. It was a total disaster. Others may not realize that Bill O'Reilly had a radio show for a while, which was closed out after low ratings. Its very hard to put a finger on exactly what makes a tv or radio personality 'click' with an audience...but there is apparently no automatic transitive property between the two mediums.

Beck will do well staying on the radio. He can fill his ad slots with low paying niche advertisers who sell pants, seeds for bomb shelters, or gold.

I'm sorry I must have missed the same kind of posts when Keith Olbermann was fired, then Katie Couric, and lest we forget good old Dan Rather.

It is about time he quit/got fired.

Leaving? He's not leaving. He won't have a nightly prime-time show on the Faux News Channel, but he's not leaving anything. He still has a radio show, still writes books, still will (supposedly) contribute to FNC at some capacity.

And one day that brave smart handsome man will run for President and then run this country...

I have no ties to either party, but if Beck or Palin ever ran for POTUS and won.....I'd move to Canada.

You see...THAT is why I have no respect for you. Dan Rather was given documents to report. He did. He reported them as fact. His news team fucked up and didn't verify those documents. Let's assume that the Killian documents were false. You stated that Dan Rather forged those documents. That shows that you missed the point entirely. The person that really did forge the documents got away with it...and you don't even have the intelligence to wonder. "Who did it?"

Longer you are truly a stranger to the truth. Dan Rather was advised that the documents were likely fake but he reported it anyway. He was warned but he had his story the facts be damned. His producer was fired as well.

So tell us, who is the guy who PROBABLY created the fake documents. It won't be an imposition to ask for your proof.

FYI Elena, I don't think Beck has made any mention of running for president so rest easy. Of course Trump is tied for number two behind Romney and tied with Huckabee.
