I think you need to differentiate between a pimp (in the classic sense) and an agency. Although the snarky people will say they are one and the same.

Agencies don't beat you or ply you with drugs to keep you submissive. If you need more graphic details go to the avenue and ask a resident "businessman" about it. Then email Brooke. If you don't see a difference you are blind.

I don't see the "value" in either one of those choices. In both situations girls are being managed & money is taken from them. But between the two, an agency is the lesser evil.

Low End Agency -
1. little advertising

4. you work the schedule they give you

High End Agency (Usually ran by former female escorts)-
1. You don't have to pay for advertising
2. you don't take the phone calls
3. they care about safety over money
4. they don't make you see just any client
5. you work your own schedule
6. they pay to have your photos taken
7. usually takes a 40/60 split, but you don't have to pay for a website/photos/advertising/extra phone bill....so basically even outs

If an escort is broke, why would anyone give the escort money back that she earned for them? Its called a business for a reason. If you treat it as such and set goals, the escort shouldn't be broke. When someone working at McDonald's is broke, would you ask them for money back? I'm guessing.....no.

I had an enlightening conversation with an agency girl that has done a stint as an Indy. And some prefer to have people handle the "business" end of the situation for them. They don't have the time and/or the understanding to manage the business aspect. They don't have to deal with clients until after they're screened. They don't have to deal with scheduling much. They don't have to market, negotiate/set rates, they can focus solely on taking care of their clients.
I've seen a LOT of girls leave agencies to go Indy and find out that they end up working harder for less money. Again, I'm not a huge fan of agencies because I've had bad experiences with some on the road. Not all are "good agencies" and some of the girls employed were little more than crackhead thieves, which I learned much too late. But girls go to agencies for much the same reason guys do. A guy gets verified by an agency, he has access to several girls and doesn't have to do too much research or spend much time getting verified (after the 1st time) and can just have fun without spending extra time and resources finding his date. A girl, through an agency, can have access to several guys without having to spend the time to market and verify them.
And good agencies "train" their girls. Teach them how to do their jobs better, and some even teach money management, which is a novel concept. Again, an agency doesn't do anything for a girl she couldn't do for herself. But to do it herself takes on more risk, more time and has a steeper learning curve if things go wrong.
Pimps don't invest in the girls. They run them and keep them down.

1. I prefer an A to B transaction. C is just another way to get in trouble.

About 6 years ago I was on business trip for a client and just happened to take Independence Ave. downtown. At about where the CVS Pharmacy is now I saw two guys beating a woman and directing her West on Independence, Ave. - I pulled over to watch the show and could hear the words "ask that guy" & "ask that guy". The girl was about the most downcast creature I have ever seen. I know it goes on, but usually not out in the open like this.
The girls need to be safe from the pimps. I would like to think that any gift a girl gets is hers, and is not passed on to some pimp. The show that I witnessed demonstrated one of the justifications used to keep the hobby illegal. (and yes illegal is a sick bird - old joke).
