A Great Picture

I got this in an email. I don't know if it real or not. The trees don't jive with June in Minneapolis.

It is a great picture anyway.

A picture from the Minneapolis Star/Tribune taken on a June morning at the Minneapolis National Cemetery.

Dali, great pic if it's true or photo shopped. I used to always tell my Marines that eagles don't fly in flocks!

Marines use OOH-RAH.

Army/Air Force use hoo-ahh.

You have not served and using "hoorah" marks you in ways that I don't want to mention. It damn sure don't make you cool to anyone that's REALLY served.

I am not angry and I wasn't a sniper!!

We're all friends here.

It's a very moving picture.
Great Pic. The Eagle is a Noble Bird untill he meets civilization. They might not fly in flocks, but they will sure fight it out in a Garbage Dump. I have seen it in Alaska. In fact, if there is a dump around with lots of edibles, they will cease hunting and take their place right at the trough with the Buzzards and Sea Gulls.

Sort of reminds you of todays America. We used to be lean, mean Raptors, now we are fat, lazy, and sitting in the drive through at the fast food joint.

Still a great pic.

There are a pair of bald eagles nesting in a heavily wooded area near where i live. The nest and the eagles can be seen from a nearby road.
The pair have been returning to the nest each year to lay eggs, then incubate them until they hatch. Personally I saw the male several times fly to the nest after hunting in a nearby water way. He brought fish to the nest. The eagle is a very impressive animal to see in the wild.

You must be an East Side Guy too. I assume you are talking about the pair on Normandy just accross from Fuddrukers on Greens Bayou.

Awesome photo. The story makes it that much more inspiring.
I am from Minnesota
This is at Fort Snelling and the eagle has all the fish in the Mississippi River to pick from.
When I was there, and driving south to Winona [on the River] one could see eagles flying around.
Plus the eagle may want something different for lunch like a gopher, rabbit or squirrel
