I want to post a pic of myself for my avatar. is that not a good idea? If it is ok, how do I do it? Thx for your help.

Posting your pic is certainly your perogative. I would say most of the gents are quite diligent in keeping their actual likeness as discreet as possible, but again..free choice.

I think it all depends on the level of discretion you need to keep. .... But on the same hand do you really want a pic of yourself on here if shit hits the fan? I know for me the level of discretion I have to keep is above and beyond!!! Having 5 brothers, a sister, mom & dad.... hell the whole damn family is in this big town with small town mentality.
