Providers get pissed for whatever reason and put outright lies on various blacklists and in alerts, but then there's the whole issue of clients getting pissed for whatever reason and posting trash in reviews and alerts. There's reality and dishonesty on both sides, or maybe it's just an extreme difference of opinion about who owes what for what?

When I was a new provider, I used to think everything was pretty black and white, that a name on a "bad" list meant that person was horrible, but after being around a while, I learned that any appointment's "retelling" is going to be mired in grey, that despite how colorfully the poster may tell his or her story, it doesn't ever paint the whole picture. (Heck, I was surprised to find that gentlemen even make up good details for whatever brownie points that might get them, or "high fives" for their egos, or, gasp, perhaps just to be kind.)

Reviews, alerts, NBL, PB, P411, ABC 123.... they are all just tools, and tools are used at the discretion of the wielder to create, repair, or tear down. Ultimately you have to weigh it all, crap vs. roses, and see which seems to comprise the bulk of a provider's or potential client's history before you decide to spend time with them or not. I also believe that what people actually write here on ECCIE, their own words and the manner in which they express them, tells quite a bit about their personalities that can't be picked up from third-party opinions.

Luxury Daphane, I have to disagree with you on, "Once you start BCD with a provider, you do owe her something." In cases where blatant dishonesty is apparent, I feel like a client has the right to leave without leaving the provider a cent, AS LONG AS the gentleman immediately ceases and desists with any further BCD once the truth has outed. A guy going through with the session 'cause he's already there anyway and deciding it wasn't worthwhile after the fact IS obligated then despite his poor judgement.

In the end, any single account is going to be "he said, she said," but finding a pattern of behavior and posts in multiple venues is what makes "doing the research" using several sources so worthwhile.

Yeah, out here we are well aware of which providers cry foul on the pbuzz site for every little thing, or personal disagreement with a client. I only post alerts when there is actually some serious risk or something to be alert for.
I also go back in and comment on negative reports with positive info. I had one client that a paranoid provider thought was LE and was buzzed for it. I'm very good at screening, so I looked a little closer and easily verified he was not LE, and was who he said he was. I put a reverse comment on his alert. Poor guy was a little new to the game, asked a few too many questions and got on the list. Fortunately for him, I do a lot of screening and don't just look at one pbuzz report, which actually cost him a lot of appointments judging by other providers comments that they would not see him due to the report. Hopefully he has better luck now!

Our site serves a purpose, but like anything else with good intentions, it can be exploited by lesser mature people. But does that mean it should be shut down for the inappropriate activities or abuses of a few immoral or immature people?

Should guns stop being produced because of a few bad guys?
Should the automobile industry be shut down for the actions of drunk drivers?
Should all Churches be shut down because of a few pedophile pastors?
Should all schools be shut down for a few bad teachers or athletic coaches who are also pedophiles?

This country holds people personally responsible for their individual actions and not penalize entire industries, or companies, or schools, or churches, etc.

If you are being harassed, stalked, blackmailed, etc. then you need to report that activity to the police and enforce legal action against them. If our site is being used to blackmail people then it is up to you innocent people to teach the blackmailers a lesson. You have your other boards you post to to out these offenders and their inappropriate activity. And again, you can always report the activity to your local police or the FBI.
