Match.com gets a lot of users and a wide-variety.
e-Harmony is another, but the chicks seem to be way more into committed relationships and in order to get on the site you gotta fill out a pretty lengthy questionnaire. I've never done it, but have been on Match.com in the past. There is usually a gem or two on Match.com, but you gotta work for it.

+1 Those are the two most popular (with the highest amount of fish). Zoosk is also gaining popularity but costs the same (or more) as Match.com so you might as well stick with the orig (unless you see a hottie on Zoosk you want to chase that isn't anywhere else.

Caveat: The Majority of women on these sites are single\divorced women with children (usually living at home). They are looking online because they can't get out much.

Summary: The BEST Hotties are still found around town. (In ATX it's definitely not hard to find them unless you are looking for a 35+ lady)

I am a "mature guy" - not married and find it to be an awkward time of life. The younger women, while generally available for short term relationships, I find difficult to relate with. But, truthfully, I am just not attracted to women say over fifty. I am sure there are exceptions, but I've not found them.

Question: Where do you find psychologically stable over 35 accomplished women in Austin, TX who are amenable to a mature guy?

I met my wife on match.com. I agree with the statements about the type of women you'll find on match.com (divorced, many still with children depending on their age) but when you hit a certain age the options for meeting members of the opposite sex diminish. Women don't go to clubs/bars alone for the most part and finding others in your age group to go out with is sometimes difficult.

The majority, if not all, the women on match.com are looking for serious relationships, not one-night stands. I had great success getting laid with the women I dated from match.com but I also found it mentally difficult since the women were looking for more than that and in many cases I was not.
There are also local singles meetup groups where you don't have to go through all the endless online chit chat B4 phone calls B4 a lunch/dinner date (That you'll probably pay for).

Even then 9 out of 10 times it's with someone who is much older and fatter than her photos.

For $70 per year at meetup.com you can start your own meetup group custom tailored to the types of women you want to meet because you create the theme.

POF is free so it tends to draw a far different caliber of woman than Match. I found POF a far easier place to hook up if you don't mind doing less attractive women as a whole.

One thing I liked about match.com is you can do quite a bit of pre-screening up front. Agree that photos can sometimes be old or touched up, but you get at least some idea what the other person looks like. And the profiles can be very revealing as to whether or not you'll click together. Somtimes you can read between the lines and come to some possibly correct, or incorrect, conclusions.

Meetup.com also sounds intriguing.
