Yeah, you're off track. This is about nothing more than political posturing... I mean who's going to vote against trafficking amiright? The fact that the law does nothing to stop trafficking is beside the point... that's what politicians do... make meaningless gestures.Still it's interesting that here in 2021 in the alleged freedom living state of Texas we come up with the most restrictive anti-prostitution laws at a state level that have ever existed in the history of our country. You'd have to go back to the Puritan days to get these sort of laws in the American colonies. I suppose in the way this is like a form of neo-puritanism.
If they wanted to stop trafficking, they'd come down on FB... but zuckerbucks talk. I mean FB can manage to prevent you from saying trump won or Covid is a scam, but they can't stop underage porn? C'mon.

When I Google this issue and the political activist group that lobbied for this law I see a sort of woke me-too movement driven by some very lopsided logic. But you're right it's nothing like some sort of political economic movement in the past that had some basis in reality somehow. Instead this movement depends on a social media reality that sort of marries cancel culture with the latest Rambo movie.
