Buying Sex in Texas Is Now a Felony

The Dallas Observer wrote an article a bit more fair and balanced than others. It does have a glaring inaccuracy though. The sex worker they interviewed who was for the law didn't understand that the law does nothing to lower the sentence against the seller. When you think about it the cops will have a lot better reason to charge the seller when the buyer will be charged with a felony.

I wonder if the Dallas Observer still has escort ads I haven't looked at one in a while lol.

Interesting how the currently working SW interviewed for the article thinks the law will make things worse, from the standpoint that the johns who “follow the rules” by getting screened, etc., are the ones more likely to quit the hobby, leaving them with the more dangerous clients.

That's a good point. Hopefully the observer will come out with another story detailing the aftermath of this law at some point in the future.
